The Residents Blog, January 2009
The Residents' Blog was a news blog maintained by Big Brother of The Cryptic Corporation beginning in August 2003 (originally titled The Residents' Official News Blog and Website Wrapper, then The Residents' Official News BOG and later Official News Blog).
The BOG became The Cryptics' (and thus, The Residents') main outlet for communication with their fans until the website's redesign early in this month. At this point (at least according to the website's header after the redesign) the blog was simply called The Residents Blog.

Top Ten Time

- Last year I did a survey of various peoples favorite ten Resident projects. The people I asked were from Cryptic, Mute, Ralph, Bach is Dead, etc. This year I am seeking a fan perspective.
- The problem is that I don’t know who has the familiarity with the vast ocean of recordings that The Residents have made.
- So I am asking that you apply for one of the 5 positions that I am opening as harbingers of taste. But you must follow these rules or else I will not consider your application.
- 1. Do not send me your Top Ten list until I ask you to do so, assuming I select you to make a list. I will delete any email that sends me such a list without bothering to even read it.
- 2. If you do not have familiarity with and probably own at least 30 Residents albums then your knowledge base is not big enough to make a judgement. Do not apply.
- 3. Assuming that you got through the above rules, do send me a brief paragraph of why I should choose you as one of the five harbingers of taste.
- If you are chosen, you will need to offer explanations that will be published to explain your choices. I may also request that you name your least favorite project and also explain why you selected it. I may invite the public to argue with you. Do not send me these things unless requested to do so.
- If you are selected further information will be supplied.
- Send to bigbrother@residents.com The decision will be made at the end of January, OR WHEN A WEEK HAS GONE BY WITH NO ENTRIES.
Bunny Returns

- You have all seen the video I assume so you know that Cryptic Corp managed to find some financial support for Bunny by moving them to an ad supported web site (www.youtube/seeofsound). The site is part of MVD, the distributor for The Bunny Boy album in the USA, so it really makes sense.
- The deal is that See of Sound will run a marathon of all the past Bunny videos from 2008, referred to here as Season 1, which will take three weeks. They are supposedly working with Google to promote the web site and the Bunny series. We’ll see what that means. On February 16 Season 2 “Arkansas” is set to begin with new shows and will, I assume, go back to the three episodes a WEEK schedule.
- Compared to the Season 1 episodes which I was in charge of posting, I have no involvement in what is going on at See of Sound so I will be watching along with you starting Jan 19th to see what they do.
- I posted a link over there on the right above ----> that takes you to the “video internet series.”
