The Residents live shows

The Residents in Cube-E, 1989

Although they only performed in public four times between 1972 and 1981, The Residents' live shows and tours have since become widely recognised as one of the most successful facets of their art, beginning with their first major international tour production, The Mole Show, which premiered in 1982.

Despite the group having maintained a somewhat ambivalent relationship with live performance throughout their career (having decided on more than one occasion that they would retire from touring altogether), The Residents have continued to create elaborate, conceptual touring productions which have consistently received critical acclaim (if not always commercial success).

This page lists the noted live appearances and tours of The Residents, from their early "guerrilla" style appearances in San Francisco to their most recent international tour and beyond.
