Official News Blog and Website Wrapper, September 2003
The Residents' Official News Blog and Website Wrapper was a news blog maintained by Big Brother of The Cryptic Corporation beginning August 15th 2003, following the company's purchase of the residents.com domain name from fan site RZWeb (now defunct).
The blog later developed into the BOG, a dedicated news blog which was The Cryptics' (and thus, The Residents') main outlet for communication with their fans until the website's redesign in 2008.
This page collects posts made to this news blog in September 2003, as archived on archive.org, transcribed to this wiki by a Mysterious Spanish Lady.

Euro Ralph - - The Golden Goat DVD single - and a surprise for tour attendees
- Euro Ralph is still waiting for the fancy Demons Dance Alone DVD to come in from Ralph America. So....
- All that is currently holding up the release of the Ralph America DDA DVD is the beautiful package. Meanwhile preparation has continued for the regular store version, and for journalists, a special promo version. Since the journalist version has already been made, Euro Ralph has decided to give away a promo copy version of Demons Dance Alone DVD with each Golden Goat DVD single purchased at shows. Yep, free. Though it is not exactly the same as the other releases - for instance, it has no menus, or bonus items and no eggs - it is a great way of getting the main content of the DVD at an amazingly fair price of free.
- Expectations are that the Ralph America collectible numbered art version will also be for sale at the shows so you can pick up both.

- ------
- The first single from the Demons Dance Alone DVD will be "The Golden Goat." The disc will be offered for sale on the upcoming European tour. The NTSC/all region DVD will include a single sized edit of The Golden Goat video, plus a radical remix of both the video and music.
- The single is also noteworthy in that the sound for these videos has not been compressed. Because there was space on the disc, the music is in full PCM (like on CD's) format.
- As a bonus track, the homo-erotic SM video for "Teddy" has been included. This video was originally made for a proposed sequel to the DVD, Icky Flix. When the idea was dropped to do a follow-up, Teddy just got pushed off into a corner until being rediscovered this summer. Warning, contains nudity and fetishistic behavior.

Ralph America - - Binding machine breaks down
- Demons Dance Alone DVD package hits another snag.
- A binding machine at the Italian plant that produces packages for both Ralph's broke down yesterday spelling further delays for the much anticipated DVD. The predicted date for arrival at the Ralph America warehouse is now September 24th.
- However, because the plant is in Italy, it is expected that copies of the deluxe DVD will be available for some of the shows on the European tour which will be in progress at that time.

Just because you don't hear from me doesn't mean I don't love you
- Blog updates suspended during The Residents tour.
- That's right. No Powerbook to take to Europe to keep the blog updated with what would be lots of news and show reports. Really, you should be at the shows yourself rather than sitting at home reading reports anyway.
- We are still in building and testing stages with this thing so bear with us for the next couple of weeks when it becomes really boring. We'll try to bring back some low grade photos and tinny sounding mp3 files to post. We'll see what we get.
- Check back around first week of October and see if we have sprung back to life.

DDA tour - - The Residents survive Serbian attack
- Below is an account by Ambrozic Dragan, the promoter for the sold out show in Belgrade, Serbia, reporting back on the appearance of The Residents. This was the first time a non-classical performance had appeared in this concert hall since 1897... or something like that.
- By the way, The Residents are not Satanists.
- -
- The show was great, even better then I expected, and I liked it even more then "King and Eye", which I saw in Ljubljana 1989. The audience was totally euphoric at the end.
- -
- The Residents team is flexible and profesionall, everything went totally smooth - which is fantastic bearing in mind they played a show in Prague (also sold out) a night before and traveled 16 hours by bus to Belgrade (make a note of the travel distance). They were late two hours, thanks to the fact that no one was working for two hours overnight on the Hungarian side of Austrian/Hungarian border (you could have attacked Hungaria that night between 2am and 4am and noone would have noticed).
- -
- Our show was over at 11pm, but since the bus couldn't move until 2am (the driver needed rest), we spent the rest of the evening in the club of Kolarac venue, which has only couple of dishes (but they are prepared very good), but is the only nearby place working such late hours. Interestingly enough, they have a live music with selection of pop/folk tunes (including some Ceca) - this cultural clash ended in The Residents team making photos with the local singers and - all in all - great party for the tired musicians.
- -
- A day before the show, Democratic Party of Serbia (Kostunica's DemoChristians), gave the statement accusing Ministry of Culture of Serbia (who were our donators) of supporting satanistic show in the religious holiday (27.9 was indeed an Orthodox Christians holiday). They based the statement on the annonimous letter which was sent to them and Kolarac venue and Orthodiox church, by somebody who was obviously checking The Residents website in search of satanistic (or at least anti-christian) references, and giving them a wild imagination treatment.
- -
- I reacted on radio B92 by giving a short description of the show and calling the representative of Kostunica party to attend it, but this led us into hiring double security, as one can never know (thankfully, nothing happened). The statement was published only in one daily newspapers, but it was on couple of TV news, which was enough for everybody to start calling me for comment. Not only that we had around 80 journalist regularly attending the show (including ones from Ljubljana, Skoje and Timisoara in Romania), but I had to give shorter or longer interviews to Radio Free Europe, and pretty much all liberal print we have in Serbia.
- -
- Typically, the reviews of The Residents show were all exillarated, with journalists accusing Kostunica party of just being plain stupid.
- -
- Great adventure. Give us more satanists. Satanists have better fun, as Zlatko would say.
