Official News BOG, January 2006
The Residents' Official News BOG was a news blog maintained by Big Brother of The Cryptic Corporation beginning in August 2003 (originally titled The Residents' Official News Blog and Website Wrapper), following the company's purchase of the residents.com domain name from fan site RZWeb (now defunct).
Around March 2004, this blog became known as the Official News BOG. In this form, the blog became The Cryptics' (and thus, The Residents') main outlet for communication with their fans until the website's redesign in 2008.

River of Crime Announced
- The Cryptic Corporation announced over the holidays that a major new Residents project was in the works. The details are still sketchy, but the project is not due to go public until April so that is not surprising. It already has it's own web site so that means something.

BOGcast interview with Nolan Cook (Part 2) now available
- The Residents don't play the guitar, at least not very well.
- Over the stretch of 33 years they have worked with many different guitar players, including the notorious Snakefinger.
- For many years they just didn't use guitar after Snakefinger died. But when the need did arise they picked none other than Nolan Cook, guitar wizard extraordinaire. Nolan has been part of the touring troupe since Wormwood and has been part of the recording and arranging group since Icky Flix.
- Nolan doesn't push himself out front, but anyone who has seen a live show he has performed in, will instantly recognize his inventive style. His contribution to the latest album, Animal Lover, was critical to its realization.
- Sparky was lucky indeed to get Nolan to talk to him for this 2 part interview.
- Part 2 is currently on iTunes. You can also find it on the BOGcast section in the historical on those dates.
