Official News Blog, June 2007
Appearance
The Residents' Official News Blog was a news blog maintained by Big Brother of The Cryptic Corporation beginning in August 2003, previously known as the Official News BOG (or simply BOG) until April 2007.
The BOG became The Cryptics' (and thus, The Residents') main outlet for communication with their fans until the website's redesign in 2008.
This page collects posts made to this news blog in June 2007, as archived on archive.org, transcribed to this wiki by a Mysterious Spanish Lady.

Night of the Hunters to ship first week of June
- Somewhere between 1994's The Gingerbread Man and
- 1998's Wormwood, a Residents album disappeared.
- Actually, it didn't disappear, it was usurped.
- The Residents received an offer to write some
- music for a television series and they couldn't
- pass up such an intriguing opportunity.
- Suddenly the album they were writing
- became a wholly different project.
- That album, which had a working title of
- "That Slab Called Night," was to be a concept
- project based on the effect darkness has
- on perception, the world of the shadow.
- Though never completed, The Residents
- thought it would be insightful to sort
- through the now over ten years old music
- and create something new...
- Night of the Hunters.

theresidents/MySpace turns one year old - 25,000 friends
- Not that I take much stock that having friends in MySpace means anything at all, I do find it interesting that the speed at which friends are being added is ramping up. 25,000 is still a lot of people in one year no matter what. The fact that the kyte (theresidents) TV channel is running on that page as well as here is probably helping. The two TV channels (theresidents and eye.tv) have had 100,000 hits since going live only three months ago and are among the most popular of the kyte.tv channels.

Residents Video Retrospective Planned for San Francisco
- September 20, 27, 30 at 7:30
- I have just learned that the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco will host a three program series of video work of The Residents. The dates are September 20, 27, 30 at 7:30. Each is a different program. The program is similar to the one that was at the New York Museum of Modern Art last October.
