Residents.com news, August 2013
Residents.com news was the news section of The Residents' official website, Residents.com, maintained by Big Brother of The Cryptic Corporation beginning in September 2010 and concluding in September 2014.
As social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter became more widely used by the group, The Residents' news updates during this period were more often premiered on either of those services, usually Facebook.
This page collects posts made to this news section in or around March 2013, as archived on archive.org, transcribed to this wiki by a Mysterious Spanish Lady.
Big Brother's 40 year list
A guy popped into the chat the other day who had dropped out of following The Residents for five years. He did not know who Randy was, had never heard of Charles Bobuck and thought Bob was from the Church of the Sub-Genius.
Trying to update him on the last five years was so frustrating to him that he quickly signed back out, probably never to try to untangle the knot that is The Residents again. Imagine what it must be like for a totally new person to try to wade through 40 years of activity. Bewildering.
Regulars here know that it takes a lot of attention to keep up. Somehow I feel like I need to pretend that it is not that complicated so new people do not get so overwhelmed.
Therefore, I offer this simplified list. It is still 21 albums. A lot of albums. But everyone in the world should have these albums if they have any albums at all.
