Although originally starting out on their own label, The Residents have been on many Record Labels in the past.

Main Labels

Ralph Records (1972 - 1987)

Ralph Records was The Resident's personal Record Label, it folded in late 1987, but has been occasionally revived since.

Rykodisc (1986-1988)

Rykodisc produced early quality CDs for The Residents. They were owned by Rkyo

Ryko Analogue (1988)

Ryko Analogue released analogue versions of God In Three Persons & it's soundtrack.

Enigma Records (1989 - 1990)

Restless Records (1991)

Restless Records worked with Enigma Records to repress The Resident's Elvis based products.

East Side Digital (1987 - 2002)

Released Residents CDs in the US.

Foreign Distributors

RTC worked with Missing Link records to distribute Residents albums in New Zealand & Australia

Virgin Records (1979, 1986 - 1987, 1989)

Vrigin occasionally released Residents material in European Countries

Celluloid (1980)

Celluloid released The Commercial album & Shut Up, Shut Up in France.

PRE Records (1980)

PRE released The Commercial Album and Single in the U.K

Korova (1984)

UK Based label that released European pressings of Residents records in 1984.

Doublevision (1984 - 1985)

Dounblevision released The Residents' Mole Show/Vileness Fats VHS in the UK, and also produced a soundtrack album seperate from Whatever Happened To Vileness Fats, featuring then unreleased material from The Mole Show.

Wave (1985 - 1986)

Wave Records distributed The Residents records in Japan, resulting in brief popularity for The Group in the country. They funded the first leg of The 13th Anniversary Show.

AIM (1986)

Distributed Residents albums in Australia during the 13th Anniversary Show.

Also produced Mole Show Bootlegs in the early 80s.

Torso (1986 - 1991)

Disturbed Dutch pressings of Residents albums from 1986 to 1991. They re-released essentially The Resident's entire catalogue, bar a few.

Ginger Music (1987)

Ginger Music distributed Residents albums in Spain.

Video

Palace Video (1987, 1991)

Palace Video released two VHS's in Europe for The Residents.

The Voyager Company (1992, 1994)

The Voyager Company produced two interactive projects for The Residents

Fan only labels

Cryptic Corporation (1987 - present )

The Residents own label that came into being towards the end of New Ralph Records.

UWEB (1988 - 1992)

Residents fan club that released rare content.

T.E.C. Tones (1990)

T.E.C Tones produced Cassette releases of two Residents albums. They also produced the first CD issues of Snakefinger's albums.

Euro Ralph (1992 - 1998, 2000 - 2005, 2010)

This was the European replacement for Ralph Records. They re-released Residents CDs in Europe.

Ralph America (1993 - 1994, 1997 - 2010)

Ralph America was the replacement for Ralph Records in the US. Unlike Euro Ralph they didn't re-release too many albums, but saved that for ESD.

Bomba Records (1997 - 2002, 2004 - 2005)

Bomba Records released The Residents stuff in Japan.

Music Video Distributors (2003 - 2005)

Music Video Distributors distributed The Residents films on DVD. They later became MVD.

Mute (2004 - 2008)

Mute re-issued The Residents stuff in Europe.

Santa Dog Records (2008)

This was a fake record company run by The Residents. They released two albums.

MVD Audio (2008 - )

MVD was an evolution of Music Video Distributors.

Birdsong / Hayabusa Landings (2009 - 2011)

Birdsong worked with Hayabusa Landings to re-issue Residents albums in Japan.

RSD (2009 - 2012)

RSD released digital exclusive material.

MVD Visual (2009, 2011, 2015)

MVD Visual is the evolution of Music Video Distributors.

Music On Vinyl (2012 - 2013, 2015 - 2017)

Music On Vinyl is a label that re-issues old records with modern standards.

Superior Viaduct (2014 - 2015)

Superior Viaduct re-issued three hard to find Residents releases.

Klanggalerie (2014 -

Klanggalerie act as a sort of modern equivalent of the Fan-Club label, occasionally releasing Residents material that would interest fans of the group, but not touching the group's major albums.

Psychofon Records (2016 -

Psychofon have been releasing The Resident's vinyl issues since 2016.

Pledge Music (2017 - 2018)

Pledge Music delivered downloads to people who submitted material for the I Am A Resident! Project.

Secret Records (2017 -

Secret Records have been releasing Rare Residents material, focusing somewhat on their live output.

Cherry Red (2017 -

Cherry Red has been distributing Residents albums in the U.K. They work closely with MVD audio, and also have been producing the pREServed series.

New Ralph Too (2017 -

New Ralph Too is the replacement for Ralph America. They produce the pREServed series alongside MVD audio and Cherry Red.
