"Talk Talk" is the debut single of American garage rock band the Music Machine. It was released in November 1966, and became the band's only Top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. It was covered in The Residents 1976 album "The Third Reich 'N' Roll" on the suite "Swastikas on Parade".
History
With this song being part of a suite it does not have a lot of unique history with the group. Like with all other song from this album it is a cover of the 1966 hit "Talk Talk". The Residents likely heard this song quite a bit as college students. with Talk Talk being a hit in 1966 its was a easy choice for their 3rd album The Third Reich 'n Roll. This song has never been performed live by the group as it is cut from all live version of "Swastikas on Parade". The song was included on "Groovy Greats RDX".
Lyrics
I got me a complication And it's an only child. Concerning my reputation As something more than wild. I know it's served me right, but I can't sleep at night. I have to hide my face. Go some other place.[1]
