"RDX" (or "redux") is (seemingly) an abbreviation used by The Residents to denote newly-created variations of classic tracks derived from the original multi-track tapes. The term - which follows the same convention as the group's earlier concept "RMX" (or "Residents Music Expanded") - first appeared on the Record Store Day compilation album Leftovers Again?! in 2021.
A number of suites of "RDX" material are expected for release on upcoming vinyl instalments in The Residents' pREServed series of remastered reissues; the series was promoted with a "RDX Sampler" released to Soundcloud in mid-2022. The first of the RDX suites, titled "Groovy Greats RDX", is expected for release on the pREServed vinyl edition of The Third Reich 'n Roll in February 2023.
