Jake Gonnella is an experimental producer and musician from Boston, Massachusetts. He is responsible for a cover of The Residents' song "When We Were Young", which was featured in the suite "Commercial Bells Toll" on the CD edition of the collaborative cover album I Am A Resident! in 2018, and separately on the vinyl edition.
Gonnella had previously contributed covers of "Death In Barstow" and "Bury Me Not" to the unofficial series of tribute albums Who Killed Ralph?, in 2016 and 2017.
In 2018 Gonnella was involved in conversations with Homer Flynn of The Cryptic Corporation about mounting a stage play based on The Residents' 1978 album Not Available. The project was abandoned due to budget restraints, with The Residents' focus shifting instead to God In 3 Persons - Live!.
