2021

For The Residents, 2021 has largely based around preparation for the largely re-schedueld Dog Stab tour, as well as production on Triple Trouble. It's noted by the release of Duck Stab Alive!, The Residents' newest album and video project, recorded live in the studio over a period of two days.

January

• 2nd: Klanggalerie releases Oddities 2013-2015, an archival collection of Bobuck outtakes (credited to Bob Uck and the Family Truck).
• 18th: The latex eyeball masks by SikRik are re-stocked.

February

• 18th: Additional archival copies of The Healer and the Archer are auctioned off.
• 19th: Bobuck's Chuck's Ghost Music is reissued by Klanggalerie.
• 20th: 15 more copies of the Tourniquet of Roses box set are produced and sold.

March

• 12th: Bunny Boy: Live in Frankfurt is released by Secret Records.
• 15th: Miniatures 2020, a second edition of Morgan Fisher's Miniatures project, is released, including the new Residents track "Irish Wife".
• 26th: The pREServed edition of Freak Show is released, including a full disc of rough mixes and demos, and the complete Ty's Freak Show.
• 26th: Bobuck plays The Residents is reissued on vinyl by Psychofon.

April

• 9th: The outtakes collection Ozark is reissued on vinyl by Secret Records.
• 16th: The RSD releases El Año del Muerto and Morning Music are reissued on CD by Klanggalerie.
• 20th: The Residents upload an instrumental demo remake of "Constantinople" and invite fans to film themselves singing along to the recording, to be included in the Duck Stab Alive project.

May

• 4th: Hardly Gurning While the World is Turning, a remix album of Renaldo & The Loaf's Gurdy Hurding, is released by Klanggalerie, featuring contributions from The Residents, Eric Drew Feldman, and Nolan Cook.
• 7th: The Dog Stab tour is mostly rescheduled to Summer 2021.
• 10th: DUCK STAB! ALIVE! is announced for a Night Flight Plus special. / The Homer Flynn Discord Q&A takes place.
• 20th - 21st: The Residents record the DUCK STAB! ALIVE! TV special.
• 28th: The pREServed edition of Gingerbread Man is released, including the Fat Boy tape, Prelude to "The Teds", and the Hunters soundtrack.

June

• 5th: DUCK STAB! ALIVE! is released on Night Flight Plus.
• 12th: Leftovers Again?!, an archival LP of unissued 1970s material, is released for Record Store Day.
  • This release introduces the RDX concept, in which The Residents explore their multitrack tapes and create new versions of songs.

August

• 3rd: The Residents create their TikTok account, where they post one-minute clips serving as new videos for Commercial Album songs, with the aid of John Sanborn. New clips are posted to the account for about a month.
• 4th: Homer Flynn is interviewed for WZRD Chicago Radio. The interview largely concerns the upcoming Dog Stab tour.
• 12th: Due to travel complications, the majority of dates for the Dog Stab tour are cancelled.

September

• 9th: Homer Flynn is interviewed by KFAI.
• 15th: The Residents perform Dog Stab at the Regent Theater in Los Angeles, California.
• 17th: The Residents perform Dog Stab at the Castro Theater in San Francisco, California.
• 18th: The Residents perform Dog Stab at the Rio Theater in Santa Cruz, California.
• 29th: Homer Flynn is interviewed for the In Defense of Ska podcast.

October

• 1st: The Mole Dance 82 vinyl box set is announced by Psychofon.
• 5th: The Residents mint an NFT of their "Act of Being Polite" music video, with proceeds going to the Blackrock Foundation.
• 15th: The Residents' Inside a Circle of Dreams VR experience debuts at the Festival of International Virtual & Augmented Reality Stories, in Los Angeles.
• 20th: Pre-orders for Mole Dance 82 are opened, to ship in late November.
• 28th: A Sight for Sore Eyes, a series of coffeetable books showcasing The Residents' graphics and photography work, is announced by Melodic Virtue. Volume 1, showcasing the period of 1971 tp 1983, is announced for pre-order.
• 40 copies of the abandoned Santa Dog '84 single are pressed by Jannis Tsakalis and given out to his friends with the endorsement of the Cryptic Corporation.

November

• 12th: The Wonder of Weird Demos 1 is released by Klanggalerie.

December

• 7th: Matt Bennett's interview with Homer Flynn (likely recorded in July, given certain questions asked) is uploaded to YouTube.
• 10th: The DUCK STAB! ALIVE! soundtrack is released by Grand Chess Records in CD/10" and DVD. A VHS edition is also announced in 40 copies.
  • On this same date, the Dog Stab European tour is rescheduled for 2023.
• 27th: Homer Flynn is interviewed by humo.be.
• 28th: The Wonder of Weird Demos 2 is released by Klanggalerie.
