Inside a Circle of Dreams (subtitled The Residents in 360) is a 17 minute virtual reality live performance video by The Residents, featuring selections from the group's performance of their In Between Dreams show at the Litquake festival in San Francisco on October 16th 2018, which were filmed with a unique stereo 360º camera.[1]
The stereoscopic 360 degree virtual reality experience features the footage of The Residents and their audience transposed into animated backdrops, visualizing three songs in the form of a triptych: "Die! Die! Die!" (with animations by Nick DenBoer), "Teddy Bear" (with animations by Bill Domonkos with Christine Marie), and "Monkey Man" (with animations by Stéphane Blanquet).[1]
The piece premiered at the Festival of International Virtual and Augmented Reality Stories in Los Angeles in October and November 2021.
