3rd: Loss of the Lizard Lady, a compilation honoring Molly Harvey's work with The Residents, is released by Secret Records.
24th: The I AM A RESIDENT! album is released by Cherry Red / MVD with a second disc of covers selected by the group. (The vinyl edition has completely different content from the CD.)

18th: Hardy Fox's final studio album, Rilla Contemplates Love, is released by Klanggalerie.
21st: An epitaph appears on Hardy Fox's website, leading fans to assume he has passed away; Cryptic and Hacienda Bridge affirm that he is still alive but was diagnosed with brain cancer.

16th: The Residents perform In Between Dreams at the Swedish American Hall in San Francisco.
- This was a special event to promote The Brickeaters; Homer Flynn read excerpts from the book, and later on as The Residents performed a truncated setlist, more book excerpts were read between songs. The concert was filmed and streamed to YouTube in 360º video, and the footage was later used for the virtual-reality presentation Inside a Circle of Dreams in 2021.
19th: Intruders is released by Cherry Red / MVD and Psychofon. A music video for the song "Voodoo Doll" is also released.
- "The Intruder" (an outtake from the album) is also released as a single by Psychofon.
19th: Schwump's "Aphids in the Hall" single is reissued by Psychofon.
30th: Hardy Fox passes away.
31st: Homer Flynn and The Residents hold a live reading of The Brickeaters at the City Lights bookstore in San Francisco. As Homer read excerpts from the book, The Residents improvised background music.
