  • 29th: Through a YouTube video, Randy Rose explains the Shadowland tour as being "part three of the Randy, Chuck & Bob Trilogy" which concerns the three main stages of life in reverse order: death, sex, and birth.

April

  • 15th: The Wonder of Weird is released as a double CD through the Ralphlet.
  • 18th: Actor Dustin York appears in an episode of RandyLand as a special guest; York would soon work further with The Residents on other film and video projects.

May

  • 2nd: The Residents perform Shadowland in Gent, Belgium.
  • 3rd: The Residents perform Shadowland in Den Haag, the Netherlands.
  • 4th: The Residents perform Shadowland in Dusseldorf, Germany.
  • 5th: The Residents perform Shadowland in Gallen, Switzerland.
  • 6th: The Residents perform Shadowland in Laussanne, Switzerland.
  • 8th: The Residents perform Shadowland in Tel Aviv, Israel.
  • 10th: The Residents perform Shadowland in Nantes, France.
    • This show is professionally recorded and later released as a CD.
  • The original Santa Dog EP is reissued in a recreation of the original pressing by Superior Viaduct. Residue is also reissued with bonus content.

  • 9th: Marching to the See — a single-disc condensation of the Wonder of Weird live album — is released on MVD.

October

  • 7th: Charles Bobuck's second solo album, Roman de la Rose, is released on MVD; album notes are posted on The Residents' website.
  • 11th: Charles Bobuck launches his own website, as well as his new Bandcamp store.
  • 12th: A new Bandcamp store is opened as a new outlet for the Radio Thoreau project; a live version of "Man's World" from 2001 is released (styled "Manz Whirled").
  • 13th: A rejected Wonder of Weird demo for "My Brother Paul" is released under the Radio Thoreau project.
  • 14th: A remix of "Jambalaya" is released under the Radio Thoreau project.
  • 16th: A special "Live 3D" 100-channel mix of Eskimo is presented at the Exploratorium in San Francisco.
  • 17th: Two new Radio Thoreau singles are released: a remix of "His Latest Flame" (titled "Marie"), and a live version of "Blue Rosebuds" from the upcoming Shadowland album.
  • 21st: Charles Bobuck offers a free remix of "Sinking Solo" to promote the MVD release of Codgers on the Moon.
  • 24th: Charles Bobuck offers a free "old vinyl" mix of "Cymbals Ring" to promote Roman de la Rose.
  • 27th: A free Radio Thoreau remix of "Picnic in the Jungle" (13th Anniversary Show version) is offered through the week of Halloween.

November

  • 4th: The 12 Days of Brumalia is reissued on MVD, with the Prelude to "The Teds" EP as bonus content.
  • 6th: The Residents release the first of several sampler tracks summarizing their key projects in 150-second-long chunks. This Radio Thoreau project is apparently meant as a soundtrack to the Theory of Obscurity film; however, these tracks are not heard in the film. Each sampler track presents three albums in a total of seven minutes. Two sampler tracks are released on this day under Radio Thoreau: "The Sycamore Street Studio (1974-1977)" and "The Grove Street Studio (1978-1980)".
  • 10th: Two new sampler tracks are released: "Performance Art (1982-1990)" and "Interactive Media (1991-1997)".
  • 14th: "The Big Band (1998-2003)" is released.
  • 15th: "Storyteller (2005-2008)" is released.
  • 17th: "Party Band (2009-2015)" is released.
  • 25th: Two new sampler tracks, titled "And Also... (1974-2015)" Volumes 1 and 2, are released.
