January

  • 7th: The Cryptic Corporation reissues Heaven? and Hell! through the Ralph eBay Outlet for the dual release's twenty-fifth anniversary.
  • 14th: The ERA webstore is opened on The Residents' website. The ERA B4-74 compilation of early material, allegedly the first (and ultimately, only) one in a series of career-spanning compilations, is released through the Robot Selling Device.

April

  • 21st: Black Barry is released through RSD.
  • 25th: Randy Rose announces that he is working on a novelization of Bad Day on the Midway, sharing occasional excerpts from the book on Tumblr.

May

  • 8th: The Third Reich 'n' Roll and Fingerprince are reissued on CD and vinyl by MVD.
  • 13th: Charles Bobuck's first solo album, Codgers on the Moon, is released through the Ralph eBay Outlet, and a companion website with album-related stories and musical sketches is also launched. Bobuck also creates accounts on Twitter (@CharlesBobuck) and Facebook (@cbobuck) where he would regularly post short biographical stories in a series called The Test Tube of Tomorrow.

June

  • 2nd: Maxine, Charles Bobuck's pre-show music for the Demons Dance Alone tour, is released through RSD to commemorate the project's tenth anniversary.
  • 21st: Randy Rose posts a demo of a song titled "Momma Don't Go".
  • 23rd: GOD-O is reissued as an on-demand CD-R with three bonus tracks, and re-credited to Charles Bobuck.

July

  • 17th: Gosh Darn Chickens, the bonus content from the GOD-O album, is released through RSD.
  • 27th: Lying Horse Rock, the bonus disc of Coochie Brake, is reissued as an on-demand CD-R with three bonus tracks and re-credited to Charles Bobuck.

August

  • 4th: Demonic! The Residents Live in Oslo!, a double live album with a free DVD of the show's TV broadcast, is released through the Ralph eBay Outlet to commemorate the project's tenth anniversary.
  • 21st: Postcards from Patmos (re-credited to Charles Bobuck) is reissued as an on-demand CD-R.
  • 30th: Music On Vinyl reissue Eskimo on LP as a limited-edition 'audiophile' pressing of 500.

September

  • 11th: Duck Stab and Eskimo are reissued on CD and vinyl by MVD, although the Eskimo LP is delayed to October 23rd.
  • 20th: D*CK S*AB, a collection of Duck Stab re-recordings (including demos for the abandoned "re-imagined" project), is released through RSD and Ralph On-Demand to commemorate the album's 35th anniversary.

October

  • 3rd: Demonic! is re-pressed without the bonus DVD.
  • 20th: Randy Rose's novelization of Bad Day on the Midway is released through the Ralph eBay Outlet and includes a CD with Charles Bobuck's "reconsideration" of the original game's soundtrack.

December

  • 7th: The Ultimate Box Set is announced with a YouTube infomercial hosted by Randy Rose. The box set consists of every first pressing of every Residents release to date in the Cryptic Corporation's archives, as well as a genuine Residents eyeball mask, all contained inside a refrigerator and costing US$100,000. Only five copies are made available; also for sale is a "mystery item" costing the hefty sum of US$ 1,000,000.
  • 23rd: Tour dates for The Wonder of Weird are announced.
  • 24th: Triple Dub-Ya: The Way We Were Melbourne is released through the Ralph eBay Outlet.
  • 26th: Chuck's Ghost Music, previously a tour-exclusive download item, is reissued as an on-demand CD-R.
  • 31st: "Santa Dog 2012" is offered for free on The Residents' website.
