Weekend Of October 8-9, 1988 is a 2xLP set of music selected by Dr. Demento for broadcast on the weekend of October 8th 1988. It contains one Residents song, 'Moisture' released eight years prior on the Commercial Album.

Background

The Dr. Demento show, of which this is a recording of, was a weekly two hour radio show that played strange and unusual records from Barret Eugene Hansen's record collection. It started in 1970, and still runs to this day in digital formats.

This particular weekend of broadcasting collects some of the most weird songs from the (then) past 30 years of music, ranging from The Blob by The Five Blobs, to newly recorded songs submitted to Dr. Demento himself.

Moisture is featured on the October 9th disc, on segment six, which is dedicated to short songs. Martin Chambers' A Swift One, Robert Fripp's 'Miniature', & Andy Partridges' 'The History Of Rock'n'Roll' are all from Miniatures, and are also featured here.

Demento may not have been a fan of The Residents, but he at least liked Moisture, which he would play again on the Week Of May 24, 1992.
