Notes From Ralph

With THE BUNNY BOY, The Residents have created another off beat pop gem. A sonic roller coaster in the style of Duck Stab, The Commercial Album and Demons Dance Alone, the album features 19 fast paced songs. Obsession, insanity and the coming Apocalypse have never sounded better. The THE BUNNY BOY'S release will be accompanied by a world tour and a narrative internet series.

Randy wanted to do a video series that starred him as a crazy guy. The Bunny Boy. I was writing music for a new Residents album that had no lyrical content. We did a trade. Randy wrote some lyrics for my music that related to The Bunny Boy project he was doing, and, in turn, I wrote music for his video series.

- Charles Bobuck, THIS, 2016

Coinciding with the launch of the web series was the release of the Bunny Boy album. This consisted of more or less traditional songs that aided the telling of the story. Since they came out at the same time, the album's songs worked as clues of what would happen next in the series. The album, along with the web series, formed the basis on which the live show was structured.

- The Residents, Historical, 2017

The album "The Bunny Boy" released on the 09/01/2008 is the first part of a bigger project. A webseries soon appears on YouTube. As the 2 medias are closely intertwined, the songs are the base of the story depicted in the videos. They provide a lot of clues about what we will find in each episode. The combination of the two was used as the structure for the live show.
