1999
After an 8-year hiatus from touring, The Residents spent most of the first half of 1999 touring Wormwood Live across the United States and Europe, with significantly revamped arrangements, new songs written for the show, and new bandmates Carla Fabrizio, guitarist Nolan Cook and drummer/percussionist Toby Dammit. This was also singer Molly Harvey's first tour with the band. Despite brief shortcomings, the tour was a successful endeavor for the group, and they went on to tour regularly throughout the first half of the 2000s.
Toward the end of the year, to celebrate the end of the millennium, the Refused CD was released, collecting all versions of their landmark song "Santa Dog", including the new iteration "Fire '99". Some sources suggest this project was inspired by uncertainty surrounding the Y2K threat.[1]
