The Berry Boy Bros. is an unofficial Residents-inspired comic strip by The Mysterious Spanish Ladies, which premiered on the home page of Meet The Residents Wiki on January 29th 2024 (the wiki's seventh birthday).
The comic depicts the continued adventures of the fictional conjoined twin tag-team wrestlers Arf and Omega Berry, portrayed by George Ewart and Palmer Eiland in The Residents' unfinished film Vileness Fats.
Concept
The comic's art style (partly inspired by French comic art of the mid-20th century) was devised in late 2023 and early 2024 in collaboration by two members of The Mysterious Spanish Ladies: founding member and graphic designer "Una Misteriosa", and the group's youngest contributor, "Kula Kirby". For the strip's first two instalments, Kirby was also the strip's primary artist.
The comic's writing is believed to be a collaborative effort between numerous members of The Ladies, with gags contributed at various times by different members of the group. It is possibly for this reason (or possibly due to a shared fondness for Arf and Omega) that The Berry Boy Bros. is quietly said to be something of a "passion project" for the group.
Synopsis
Conjoined twins Arf and Omega Berry are a strange and interesting pair. A formidable tag-team wrestling duo, their other interests include TV, beer, animal husbandry, and the occult.
