Notes From Ralph

[I met Eric Drew Feldman when] we played a gig with Beefheart one night. That was at The Stone, San Francisco. [...] Eric is really great at arranging things differently and changing things around. He's just like a really good and new input of energy and things. I don't want to be a dictator of any kind of product. Things just get better and better when you intermingle another good set of advanced ideas into them and they get more fun. When you're doing it yourself your ideas start to become somewhat predictable, even if you strive for un-predictable, but someone else's' ideas are completely unpredictable. [...]

I don't think one should continue doing the same thing over and over again and as far as being in the studio on my own and doing the overdubs it was fun and quick and pleasant and I got to play out a lot of my fantasies, but it was time to do something else.

We didn't fall in love quite immediately, these things take time. [I met Snakefinger] at the end of a bunch of touring to promote an album called 'Doc at the Radar Station'. Then we took a break and nothing's happened since. [...] The other members of [Snakefinger's band] can contribute whatever they want, but they don't say much.
