Shirley and Shorty
Shirley and Shorty are the two grandchildren of Granddad, the aging Elvis impersonator from The King & Eye and the Cube-E live show. They are portrayed on the album by Jana Flynn and Simon Timony , the children of The Cryptic Corporation's Homer Flynn and TEC Tones' Tom Timony respectively, and they are portrayed by two puppets in the live show, both voiced by the Singing Resident.
The name 'Shorty' was used quite a bit in early Residents projects, as well as its use in Cube-E, it also appeared as an insult used by Arf & Omega against Saint Steve in Vileness Fats, and as the subject of the 1982 song 'Shorty's Lament'.
