El Enojado Hot Sauce is a hot sauce manufacturer founded in California in 2020.[1] The company is named after the founder's father, Pancho (pictured on many of the company's labels), whose tendency to argue with umpires while playing in the Northern Mexican Liga de Béisbol in the 1950s earned him the titular nickname El Enojado (or "The Angry One" in English).[2]

In November 2020, El Enojado announced a "special secret new flavor", named "Seasoned Greetings" after The Residents' 1974 song of the same name.[3] The "Seasoned Greetings" sauce, flavored with chipotle peppers, homemade cranberry sauce, ginger and brown sugar,[4][5] became a "sleeper hit" according to the company, and a second batch went on sale in April 2021.[5] In June 2022, El Enojado announced their first official collaboration with a musical artist: a sauce created in association with bassist Mike Watt (formerly of Minutemen), named "Watt Sauce".[6]

On October 20th 2023, The Residents announced that they had teamed up with El Enojado to create an official "cayenne-based" hot sauce,[7] named after their 1985 song "Cry For The Fire". The bottle's label features a unique artwork by Porneaux Graphics, in black-and-white and color variations. The black-and-white label edition is sold through the official El Enojado website, whereas the color label edition is sold through The Residents' Faceless Forever online store, where it is also available with a t-shirt featuring the label art.[8]
