23rd Century Giants (subtitled The Story of Renaldo & The Loaf) is a documentary film directed by Alex Wroten, which explores the history of British avant-garde musical duo Renaldo & The Loaf - formerly of Ralph Records, and collaborators with The Residents (with whom they produced the 1983 album Title In Limbo).
It features interviews with both members of Renaldo & The Loaf (Brian Poole and David Janssen), as well as other notable figures, including Ralph employees Tom Timony and Sheenah Spece, artists Steven Cerio and Poxodd, and three of the four members of The Cryptic Corporation; Homer Flynn, Jay Clem, and (in archival footage from the 2016 documentary Theory of Obscurity: A Film About The Residents) Hardy Fox.
The film premiered in 2021, and was released on Blu-ray (with over fifty minutes of extras)[1] and to streaming platforms by MVD Entertainment Group on March 8th 2022.[2][3]
